Ecommerce Snapshot: Missoni’s E-Boutique

We all browse online sometimes for things we can’t afford, which is why I ended up on the Missoni ecommerce site today. I was checking out the runway looks when I noticed that this fashion brand has an ecommerce section of their site called the E-Boutique. However, you’d think that for such a high-end label, the online store would be high-end as well. Not so. I found a few mistakes that made this E-Boutique seem decidedly amateur.

Okay, this one screenshot of the Missoni E-Boutique features a couple big missteps that I want to point out. First of all, there are some images missing. There are several Shop Now links, as you can see, for a Minidress, Dress, Bag and V-neck. But what do those products look like? There’s no way to know without following the link because there aren’t any pictures here. How strange!

Maybe you also noticed problem #2. This ecommerce site clearly knows that I’m shopping from the U.S. It says so in the upper left corner of the page. So why is the text under this featured swimsuit in Italian rather than English? It doesn’t look good at all to have 2 languages on one page. It obviously doesn’t look good to have missing images, either. Time to make some updates, Missoni! Make your website look as high-fashion as your clothes.
