Gift Tree’s Frustrating Checkout Process

While shopping on GiftTree.com, I came across some outtakes I had to share. The issues popped up while I was going through the checkout process to purchase a Champagne & Flutes Gift Set. First, when I entered the zip code where I wanted the gift delivered, it wouldn’t work. More annoyingly, it wouldn’t tell me why. How can I fix this if I don’t know what I did wrong? I ended up having to delete the last four digits of the zip code to get it to work, but it would have been easier if the site told me it only accepted the 5-digit zip codes…

The next problem I encountered was with the option to add a card with the gift. The site provides a drop-down menu of the different occasions you can choose for the card, like Christmas, Get Well, Wedding, etc. However, there aren’t any images of what these cards look like. How do I know if the card I select is really the best fit for the gift? It would be very helpful if this site would show shoppers what each card looks like so they know exactly what they’re sending.

Finally, I got to the last step in the process. As I was reviewing my order, I saw that there were options to edit the recipient info and the card message, but not the shipping option. What if I wanted to pick a different shipping method? I would have to go all the way back to that step. I would suggest adding the ability to edit this from the review page as well.

The big suggestion here is to make a checkout process that’s seamless, simple, and easy to use. Please, Gift Tree, make it happen soon!
