Free People: Mixing & Matching Product Views

I like some of the features that this site has, like being able to watch videos to see some of the clothes better and also being able to ask questions and get answers from other customers. That is pretty cool.

However, the last time I watched one of the videos, I wasn’t too pleased… The jacket shown in the video was extremely different from the one that was displayed.. What happened to uniformity and consistency?

The jacket in the video had a print on the back, which was nowhere to  be found on the 2 colors displayed in the product view. So is this a different jacket? Or is it the wrong video?

The funny thing is after a little browsing, I found the jacket in the video in my recommended items but it didn’t have a ‘watch the video’ option…I am now convinced that the video on the other page was a mistake..

The lack of consistency on a product page confuses customers. One of the most important aspects of online shopping & ecommerce is being able to see the product in so many different ways that it is almost buying the product in-store. It is great that you want to show your customers videos but make sure they are consistent with the product that is displayed.

Nice find. I’m sure there were punk kids slamming their keyboards trying to find their design black jacket.
